Life during Feudal Japan was very different from today. You were born into a class, and you were stuck there. If you were a samurai, you lived honor and loyalty. If you were a farmer you daily had to grow crops. I think that life was strict and sometimes unjust, but people had strong values.
I admire the control of the samurai and the harmony that they appreciate tea ceremonies and nature. People found meaning despite the pain of life in their duties. I also admire the significance of art, poetry, and religion even in war.
I would not want to be living in their time because of the restriction on freedom and dangers of war. But I think we can learn from their loyalty, obedience, and focus. Life in Feudal Japan teaches us to be strong, be committed to our values, and find loveliness in adversity.
"The strong overcome the weak, but the wise overcome the strong."
— Japanese Proverb
